Napoli captain Giovanni Di Lorenzo was stretchered off in agony after his left knee appeared to buckle during today’s match against Fiorentina.
The Partenopei were leading 1-0 through an Antonio Vergara goal and had just seen Roberto Piccoli’s header bounce off the upright when Di Lorenzo went to charge down an effort.
As he landed, his left knee seemed to buckle under him, and he immediately called to the bench for medical assistance.

The captain was visibly in a great deal of pain as he was loaded onto a stretcher and taken away by ambulance, where he will undergo tests at the local hospital.
Di Lorenzo was replaced by Mathias Olivera, but there are concerns there could be significant ligament damage.
It is just the latest blow in an epic injury crisis at Napoli, who are already missing Vanja Milinkovic-Savic, David Neres, Amir Rrahmani, Matteo Politano, Andre Frank Zambo Anguissa, Kevin De Bruyne and Billy Gilmour.
