Necaxa sign Naves from Palmeiras in four-year deal worth around three million dollars | OneFootball

Necaxa have signed centre-back Naves from Palmeiras on a four-year contract. The club announced the deal, worth around three million dollars to Palmeiras, who retained 25 percent of his rights.

He had a contract at Palmeiras until December 2028, but after three seasons in the senior squad he left on loan to FC Alverca in Portugal. He scored three goals in 34 matches, attracting interest from other teams.

Naves flew to Mexico on Saturday night, reported to Necaxa’s training centre and waited for the paperwork to finalise the transfer.

Palmeiras bade farewell to the defender on social media. He won the Campeonato Brasileiro in 2022 and 2023, and the Campeonato Paulista in 2023 and 2024.

An academy graduate, he stepped up to the first team in 2022 and featured across four seasons, with a career-high 15 games in 2024 under Abel Ferreira.

Palmeiras now have the newly signed Barboza alongside Gustavo Gómez, Murilo, Bruno Fuchs, Benedetti and Koné, the Ivory Coast centre-back promoted from the academy and training with the senior squad.
