As part of the PwC Players Talk, Love Arrhov spoke about the home win over Heidenheim, working hard on dead-ball situations and his move to Eintracht.
Love, you got a 1-0 win over Heidenheim. Is it fair to say that it wasn’t a pretty match by any means, but it was a crucial win?“I agree, at the end of the day, the three points are all that matters, even if it wasn’t a classic. Now we can look ahead and move our focus onto the next match away to Mainz.”
The only goal of the game came from a fine free-kick. Farès Chaibi looped the ball high into the box, Robin Koch knocked it on and Arnaud Kalimuendo finished it off in style. Is that something you’ve worked on in training?“Yes, but not just this week – in the weeks prior to that, we’d been working on dead-ball situations a lot in training. They’re an important aspect of any match. This week, we focused on free-kicks and it’s great that it paid off.”
Albert Riera is the first Eintracht head coach since Lothar Buchmann in the 1980s to win his first three home league games. How are you finding him?“He’s a very good coach. He gives us a lot to work with, sets us up well, pushes us, motivates us and has helped us improve day by day as a team. Three home wins in a row obviously feels great, particularly with the home fans that we have.”
You signed with Eintracht last year but then remained in Sweden until the end of the year. You’ve now been officially with the Eagles since January. What made you decide to come to Eintracht?“As soon as I heard that Eintracht were interested, there was never any doubt in my mind. Eintracht is a big club with a long tradition and great fans, and it’s a place where young players can really develop. I didn’t hesitate for a moment when Frankfurt came calling.”
