Liverpool Boost as Iraola Staff Plan Takes Shape

Iraola Move Edges Closer

Liverpool appear to be moving swiftly towards a new era, with Andoni Iraola reportedly close to being confirmed as the club’s next head coach.

The expectation is that the Spaniard will sign a two year contract, with Sky Sports suggesting that deal could be completed today.

For Liverpool, this would represent a clear statement of intent. Iraola has built his reputation on intensity, structure and a sharp tactical identity. His Bournemouth side were aggressive, organised and uncomfortable to play against, traits that will appeal strongly to a fanbase craving direction and clarity.

Staff Demand Looks Set to Be Met

One of Iraola’s key requests is said to centre on his coaching staff. Pablo de la Torre, Tommy Elphick, Shaun Cooper and Tom Webber, all part of his Bournemouth setup, are expected to follow him to Liverpool.

That continuity matters. Head coaches rarely arrive alone now. Their staff shape training detail, opposition analysis, player development and matchday preparation. For Iraola, bringing familiar voices into Kirkby could help Liverpool accelerate the transition.

Bournemouth Comments Offer Clue

New Bournemouth boss Marco Rose has now outlined his own backroom plans, which strongly suggests Iraola’s staff are free to move on.

“There are two assistant coaches, Marco, like me, Marco Kurth and Frank Geideck,” he told AFCB TV. “I met them in Leipzig, or Frank in Monchengladbach.

“I’ll bring an analysis guy with me, but for me it’s very important that everyone knows here that again, we don’t come to explain something.

“We come here to work together.

“So for me, it’s very important that we get very soon the perfect team who is working together in the same direction with a high energy.

“And that’s what we try to do.”

Liverpool Planning Gains Momentum

For Liverpool, the potential arrival of Iraola and his trusted staff would mark the beginning of a vital rebuild. The club need more than a new voice. They need a coherent football operation, one with shared language, aligned methods and immediate authority.

If Iraola signs today, attention will quickly turn to how his ideas reshape Liverpool’s squad, pressing structure and attacking rhythm. The staff around him may prove every bit as important as the man himself.
