With Ismael Saibari, FC Bayern already has a new forward on the horizon. Nevertheless, the Munich club is apparently still on the lookout for creative attacking players—and Martin Baturina is once again coming into focus.

FC Bayern is steadily moving forward with its roster planning for the new season. According to consistent media reports, the first two summer signings—Ismael Saibari and Nathaniel Brown—have already been finalized. The Munich club is reportedly investing a total of more than 100 million euros for both players.

Nevertheless, transfer planning at Säbener Straße does not appear to be complete yet.

Bayern continues to monitor Baturina

As transfer expert Matteo Moretto reports, Martin Baturina remains among the players who have piqued the interest of the German record champions.

The Croatian national team player had already been linked with Bayern before the start of the World Cup. Now, that interest is said to persist. According to reports, in addition to FC Bayern, Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa have also inquired about the 23-year-old.

A transfer, however, is likely to be anything but easy. According to Moretto, Como has already received and rejected several offers totaling up to 55 million euros in recent weeks.

The Italian first-division club is reportedly unwilling to let its playmaker go for less than 80 million euros.

Given his current market value of around 30 million euros, this demand seems very ambitious. However, Baturina has further increased his value with strong performances at the World Cup.

Versatile offensive player

Baturina feels most comfortable in attacking midfield but can also play on the left wing. It is precisely this flexibility that makes him an attractive prospect for numerous top European clubs. At FC Bayern, too, his profile would generally fit Vincent Kompany’s requirements.

However, the situation has changed due to the impending signing of Ismael Saibari. The Moroccan also brings great versatility to the offense and is expected to be deployed primarily in attacking midfield as well as a flexible option up front.

In light of this, FC Bayern currently has no immediate need to invest another three-digit million sum in its offense.

Whether Munich will nevertheless step up its efforts to sign Baturina will therefore likely depend largely on further developments in the transfer market—particularly on potential departures and the club’s financial resources.

One thing is certain: there is clearly interest in the Croatian national team player. However, Como’s high transfer fee demand is likely to make a transfer considerably more difficult at this time.
