Neymar and Rodrygo watched from a box as Santos beat Deportivo Cuenca 3-0 at Vila Belmiro to clinch a Copa Sudamericana playoff place.

Gabriel Barbosa, Miguelito and Gabriel Bontempo scored, the result confirming second in Group D and a playoff against a Libertadores third-placed side. According to Diario Do Peixe, the pair stayed together all evening and celebrated after full-time.

Neymar missed the match with a right calf oedema, remaining alongside Rodrygo in the suite. The Santos number 10 will report to the Brazil national team on Wednesday to start preparations for the 2026 World Cup.

Rodrygo is on holiday after Real Madrid’s season. He is also recovering from an anterior cruciate ligament injury suffered late in the campaign, which ruled him out of the World Cup.

Both were mobbed by supporters inside Vila Belmiro.
