N'Golo Kanté move to Fenerbahçe collapses after Al-Ittihad administrative error | OneFootball

Fenerbahçe say their move for N'Golo Kanté, 34, collapsed at the final stage on Monday, blaming an administrative error by Al-Ittihad.

The club said in a statement that incorrect TMS data entered by the opposing club meant the transfer could not be registered before the 22:00 deadline.

The proposed deal also involved Fenerbahçe’s Moroccan forward Youssef En-Nesyri, who was due to be exchanged for Kanté with an additional financial payment.

Fenerbahçe insist agreements with the players were reached, medicals completed, required authorisations obtained, and all documents uploaded correctly and on time in the system.

Doubt had begun to creep in on Monday evening. An administrative error on Al-Ittihad’s side was cited to explain the unexpected outcome.

Both parties have submitted a request for conciliation to FIFA.
