Noah Okafor returned for Switzerland after a calf lay-off, while Lucas Radebe hailed Elland Road’s revamp and Brenden Aaronson praised life in Leeds.

According to Leeds Live, the 26-year-old rejoined the squad on Saturday. He came on in the 78th minute of the 1-1 draw with Australia, his first cap since November 2024 after five weeks out.

An earlier rift with Murat Yakin eased with a March call-up as an injury replacement. He did not play against Germany and returned before Norway, a recall that revived his World Cup hopes and saw him travel to the US. He later missed the 4-1 win over Jordan while managing the calf issue sustained after the 3-1 win over Burnley on May 1.

Switzerland face Qatar on Saturday and it seems unlikely Okafor will start given limited minutes. Yakin’s pecking order is unclear, although six goals in his last seven Premier League matches should count in his favour.

Radebe, a club ambassador, shared a photo of a sign reading ‘The Home Of Lucas Radebe: Elland Road’ after work formally began on expanding the West Stand. He welcomed the revamp, credited the 49ers’ commitment and said he is excited for on-field investment.

Aaronson is preparing for a home World Cup with the United States before Saturday’s opener against Paraguay. “The people are great. The banter is great,” he said, speaking to the national team media. Asked for his favourite UK slang, he replied: “Ay up. It basically means ‘what's up?’.”
