Nottingham Forest eye £55m move for Reijnders | OneFootball

Nottingham Forest have emerged as surprise contenders for Manchester City midfielder Tijjani Reijnders, with the Netherlands international reportedly valued at around £55 million.

According to the Daily Mail, Forest are exploring a move for the 28-year-old as Oliver Glasner looks to strengthen his midfield ahead of the new Premier League season.

Reijnders is understood to be open to the switch in pursuit of more regular first-team football. Although he made 47 appearances in all competitions during his debut campaign at the Etihad Stadium, many of those came from the bench.

The report adds that Atletico Madrid also showed interest in Reijnders earlier in the transfer window but were put off by Manchester City’s valuation, which was closer to £60m.

City signed the Dutch midfielder from AC Milan for £46.5m last summer and could make a profit should they decide to sanction his departure. The Premier League club are continuing to reshape their squad under Enzo Maresca, having already signed Elliot Anderson and with Lille teenager Ayyoub Bouaddi reportedly among their transfer targets.

Forest remain active in the market as they prepare for another Premier League campaign. Alongside their reported interest in Reijnders, the club are still pursuing Sporting CP defender Ousmane Diomande and remain in contention to sign Chelsea forward Liam Delap.

For now, Forest’s interest in Reijnders remains at an early stage, with no agreement between the clubs. Whether Manchester City are willing to part with the midfielder is likely to become clearer as the transfer window progresses.
