Napoli could try to tempt Lazio by offering two players in exchange for Mario Gila, who has emerged as the Partenopei’s top target.
The 25-year-old defender still has one year left on his Lazio contract. While Gennaro Gattuso has asked club president Claudio Lotito to keep him, a lucrative proposal could prove too enticing to resist. The Biancocelesti have reportedly set their asking price at €30 million, but they would only collect half of the figure, as Gila’s former club, Real Madrid, is entitled to a 50% sell-on fee.
Since reaching an agreement with Massimiliano Allegri, Napoli have been considered as the Spaniard’s main suitors. The Tuscan manager was already planning to bring the centre-back to AC Milan before his dismissal.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport (via La Lazio Siamo Noi), Napoli have two cards that could help them land Gila. The first is Lorenzo Lucca, a 25-year-old Italian striker who made the move from Udine to Naples last summer, but found limited chances at the Stadio Maradona. The giant centre-forward joined Nottingham Forest on loan in January, but only scored one goal in nine appearances.
Gattuso considers signing a new striker as a top priority for Lazio this summer, and Lucca is said to be on his shortlist.
The pink newspaper also names Cyril Ngonge as another fringe Napoli player who has been linked with Lazio in the past. The Belgian is an inverted right winger who made a name for himself at Hellas Verona before joining the Partenopei in January 2024.
The 26-year-old spent this campaign on loan between Torino and Espanyol. All in all, he contributed with a single goal and four assists in 32 appearances.
