Nottingham Forest are preparing a move for Feyenoord right back Givairo Read, with an official approach expected on Thursday, fr12 claims.
The report describes Read as among the most sought-after young players in the Dutch league and says overseas clubs have tracked him for some time, with Forest the first to firm up their interest.
Read is under contract until 2029 and was brought to Feyenoord by Robin van Persie in 2023 as a youth player. He has made 54 appearances, scoring five and supplying 11 assists.
20 of those outings came last season, when he featured in the Europa League and scored against Panathinaikos. He has been linked with Manchester City and Bayern Munich, and he missed several weeks with hamstring problems.
Forest already have options at right back in Neco Williams, Ola Aina and Nicolo Savona, while youngster Zach Abbott also emerged in that role last season.
If new boss Oliver Glasner opts for his usual back three, the profile required could shift towards wing backs rather than traditional full backs.
