Novak Djokovic hails Le Mans promotion as a special day for the club | OneFootball

According to L'Équipe, Le Mans released a video on Thursday morning featuring Novak Djokovic, Felipe Massa and Kevin Magnussen, all new investors in the club, congratulating the players after promotion to Ligue 1 was confirmed on Wednesday night.

That confirmation followed Saturday night's promotion match in Bastia, which finished 2-0.

Filmed smiling on a clay court and speaking in French, Djokovic said he was delighted for the team, praised a magnificent season and noted they had met their goal of playing in Ligue 1 next term.

The 38-year-old, winner of 24 Grand Slam titles and now one of the club's investors, also wished players and staff good celebrations, adding that only they knew what it had taken to reach the target. He called it a special day for Le Mans and urged everyone to enjoy it.

Brazilian investor Georgios Frangulis, who has taken a stake via the OutField fund and attended the Bastia match on Saturday night, also congratulated the squad, said they were proud of the group and encouraged them to celebrate the moment.

Fellow investors Felipe Massa and Kevin Magnussen sent their congratulations as part of the club's new project.
