SCO Angers have confirmed that Alexandre Dujeux has left the club. It is the Frenchman’s desire to leave the club that has led to the announcement. 

Dujeux was named manager back in 2023 and has exceeded expectations. Having led the club back to Ligue 1 in his first full seaaon, he has kept the club in the top flight in successive seasons, despite working on a shoestring budget. Last season, Le Sco, finished 13th and the season before that, 14th.

This season’s achievement is even more spectacular when you consider the departure of Esteban Lepaul. He left without a replacement being signed. Sidiki Chérif, an academy product, stepped up, but he too was sold in January.

In 127 games on the touchline for Angers, Dujeux registered 1.31 points per game. His departure comes amid links to OGC Nice. As per Nice-Matin, he is the favourite to take over at the club. Claude Puel’s interim period is not expected to be extended.
