Official: Barcelona forward Ansu Fati joins AS Monaco on permanent deal | OneFootball

FC Barcelona have been working on various operations simultaneously to balance their books this summer. While a lot of attention is being given to their potential new signings, they have also been efficiently working to offload the players that do not have a future at the club.

Unfortunately for Ansu Fati and Barça, the end of the road has now arrived. As confirmed by official club sources, the Catalan club and Ligue 1 side AS Monaco have reached an agreement for the permanent transfer of the 23-year-old Spanish forward.

The player will now be formally ending his time at Barça, a relationship that began when the player was 10 years old and continued until he broke through into the first team back in 2019. However, despite the immense promise that he showed, Fati eventually had to part ways to find regular minutes elsewhere.

From Brighton in the Premier League to Monaco recently, the Spaniard has been away on two consecutive loans to find some continuity. Fortunately for him, he seems to have found his footing over in France and will be continuing his career there as well.

Previously, Fabrizio Romano even shared details regarding the transfer and the financial side of things involved. The Ligue 1 outfit will reportedly pay €11 million to the Catalan giants for his services and will attach a sell-on clause as well that could possibly benefit Barça in the future.

It was already being reported that the player would complete the move before the end of the month, and it is now confirmed that those reports were correct. A hero for many at the club, the entirety of the Barcelona fanbase wishes Fati nothing but the best for his next chapter. After all, he leaves the club with plenty of good memories and a great collection of goals and moments that will remain immortal for both the fans and within the club’s grand history.
