FC Barcelona are set to kick off their game against Real Sociedad in La Liga soon. For the Catalan giants, this game is undoubtedly a big opportunity when it comes to their league title hopes. However, Barcelona are aware of the threat that their challengers pose despite some key opposition players being unavailable.

Last time out, La Blaugrana ended up losing to Sociedad at the Reale Arena. However, Hansi Flick will likely now be committed to ensuring that the mistakes that his team made on that occasion are not repeated. To do that, Barcelona have also decided to rely on a strong starting eleven for this game with a few rotations here and there.

In goal, Polish shot-stopper Wojciech Szczesny retains his place as the team’s starting goalkeeper. His record with Barcelona has been commendable so far, despite the occasional mistakes or errors that he ends up making.

As for the centre-back partnership, that is comprised of Pau Cubarsi and Ronald Araujo. While the team’s high-line tactic did show its flaws against Atletico Madrid in the last game, the players will need to ensure that they show its best version in this outing.

On their flanks, Jules Kounde and Gerard Martin are the players deployed as the two full-backs. Both players have their own unique strengths, but they will need to commit themselves to the team completely in terms of their work-rate both up and down the flanks.

Over in the defensive midfield positions, Pedri and Marc Casado will be the two starters. With a balance of both creativity and defensive input, both of them will need to make sure that Barça remains in control of proceedings in this game.
