Official: Doekhi joins Lazio as free agent until June 2029 | OneFootball

Lazio have officially signed Danilho Doekhi as a free agent after his contract with Union Berlin ran down, penning a three-year deal.

The defender turned 28 just a couple of weeks ago and his previous clubs include Ajax and Vitesse, before joining Union Berlin in the summer of 2022.

Doekhi is a new Lazio player

He landed in Rome yesterday to undergo his medical tests and put pen to paper on a contract at the Stadio Olimpico until June 2029.

There is some Serie A link for the player, because he is the nephew of former Milan man Winston Bogarde.

A central defender, he will go into the squad now coached by Gennaro Gattuso.

Doekhi is the second free agent to join Lazio this summer, after Alfonso Pedraza.

New centre-backs were required after Mario Gila was sold to Milan, while Alessio Romagnoli is heading to Al-Sadd, although the latter has not yet been completed weeks after the clubs reached an agreement.
