The war between FC Barcelona and La Liga over the registration of Dani Olmo and Pau Victor took a new turn today as the league has filed an appeal requesting a precautionary measure to prevent the pair from playing for the remainder of the season.
This comes on the back of last Thursday’s resolution issued by the Higher Sports Council (CSD) in favour of Barça, allowing the Spanish duo to remain registered and continue playing for the rest of the campaign.
In a press release distributed to the media, La Liga confirmed that it had “filed a contentious-administrative appeal and requested precautionary measures against the Resolution of the Higher Sports Council dated 3 April 2025, by which the appeal filed by FC Barcelona before the CSD was upheld.”

Furthermore, the league, led by Javier Tebas, stated that they “believe the CSD’s decision Gravely violates the regulatory framework regarding economic control and the processing of sports licences, undermines the general interest of the competition, and compromises its integrity by breaching the principle of equality between clubs.”
La Liga argues that “the matter requires urgent judicial intervention through the adoption of the requested precautionary measures, it must guarantee the competitive balance and the financial sustainability of the professional competition.”
With this announcement, La Liga reinforces its intentions previously made clear in its earlier statement and by Tebas.
The league formally requests an urgent judicial response and precautionary measures to prevent Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor from playing for the remainder of the season.
