Official | Bayern Munich’s rising Peruvian talent Felipe Chavez moves to Köln on loan, clubs retain purchase and buyback options

FC Köln’s reported on capture of Bayern Munich talent Felipe Chavez on loan has been officially confirmed. All major German footballing media sources presently confirm earlier reports that Köln have secured a purchase option for the €800,000 valued talent. Bayern nevertheless retain a buyback option as well.
“He has a very interesting profile,” Köln managing director Thomas Kessler noted in a club statement. “With his offensive skills, he gives us additional variability in midfield. We are convinced that we can offer him the optimal conditions to consistently cultivate his potential and develop further as a player. The goal is to gradually introduce him to the Bundesliga level and give him the foundation to establish himself there permanently.“
“Felipe ‘Pippo’ Chávez is a young player who is already being courted by many top clubs, and we at FC Bayern have a clear plan for his development,” FCB sporting director Christoph Freund added. “He will now gain regular Bundesliga experience at 1. FC Köln and take the next step in his career. Felipe is a really good footballer with an exceptionally strong left foot and tons potential for the future.”
