Eintracht Frankfurt have officially confirmed the departure of goalkeeper Michael Zetterer to Premier League outfit Leeds United. The 31-year-old leaves the Bundesliga club after just one season in Hessen, with multiple German outlets reporting that Leeds will pay approximately €5m for his services. Zetterer has signed a contract through 2029 with Daniel Farke’s side.

The former Werder Bremen goalkeeper only joined Frankfurt last summer and made 28 competitive appearances across the Bundesliga, DFB-Pokal and Champions League during the 2025/26 campaign. Zetterer’s departure comes amid a significant reshuffle in the Frankfurt goalkeeping department. GGFN recently reported on Noah Atubolu’s arrival from SC Freiburg, with the Germany international immediately installed as the new first-choice keeper.

Kauã Santos is currently expected to serve as Atubolu’s deputy, effectively pushing Zetterer further down the pecking order and opening the door for a move abroad. Leeds have now acted, bringing Zetterer in as cover behind new No. 1 James Trafford.
