Olise has become one of the summer’s main talking points after his World Cup displays, amid Real Madrid interest and a possible exit from Bayern Munich.
L'Équipe reports that the Frenchman has told team-mates during the tournament that he intends to leave the German club and would like to join Madrid next season. He still has the third-place play-off to contest after a 0-2 defeat to Spain.
Madrid plan to open talks once the tournament ends, though any deal looks complicated, with Bayern unwilling to sell. The winger is 24 and under contract until 30 June 2029, and Bayern want to extend it.
During the elections, Florentino Pérez mentioned a 150 million offer for a major star, later clarifying it was not the winger.
Should Olise arrive, departures would be required, with Jude Bellingham and Vinícius Júnior identified as the most affected. Bellingham has had a fine World Cup with five goals and one assist, and Madrid could cash in. Vinícius must also negotiate a renewal, with his deal running to 30 June 2027.
An academy graduate at Reading, he debuted in the Championship at 17 and spent three seasons before joining Crystal Palace for 9 million. Three strong campaigns brought 16 goals and 25 assists. Bayern paid 53 million in 24/25, and in two seasons he has 107 appearances, 42 goals and 46 assists.
