Olivier Létang boycotts refereeing chiefs after 20,000-euro LFP fine | OneFootball

Olivier Létang, the LOSC president, will boycott meetings with France’s refereeing chiefs after being fined 20,000 euros.

According to L'Équipe, the LFP disciplinary commission imposed the fine last Wednesday following his renewed attack on officiating after Lille’s 2-2 draw with PSG on 28 August. He received no suspension.

The Paris equaliser arrived beyond added time, which triggered Létang’s fury. The Conseil national de l'éthique then referred the case to the LFP’s disciplinary body, citing his post-match remarks and a series of messages to director of refereeing Anthony Gautier, copied to FFF and LFP leaders, as breaches of the football ethics charter after previous sanctions.

After the ruling, Létang wrote to Gautier, copying LFP president Vincent Labrune and FFF counterpart Philippe Diallo, to say he was stopping all exchanges.

In that letter he argued he had been punished heavily despite detailed explanations and documents, that his complaints over LOSC v ESTAC Troyes had gone unanswered, and that refereeing communication was ill-suited compared with the Premier League that weekend.

He added that discussions lack transparency, effectiveness and any real debate, leave him personally exposed and feel like a waste of time. As a result, he said he will no longer attend any sessions on refereeing or any meeting with the Direction de l'arbitrage.
