Olivier Pantaloni will leave Lorient at the end of the season. “There is one essential reason, it is the mistrust of the directors since I arrived,” he told Ouest-France on Wednesday.
“I still feel that distrust, and from there I refuse to work in those conditions,” said the 59-year-old, a former AC Ajaccio player and coach.
He took charge in 2024 with the club freshly relegated, and led Lorient straight back to Ligue 1 in 2024/2025. “A lot of disappointment,” he said.
“You still feel they are not sure what I am capable of, so there is still a lot of distrust,” he said. He also cited “a termination clause protecting the club and again showing a lack of confidence in my abilities”.
Lorient visit Lyon on Sunday in Ligue 1 matchday 29 and are currently ninth in the table.
