FC Barcelona emerge victorious over Real Oviedo in La Liga and return to top spot in the league. Hardly an easy game, it took them until the second half to finally break through the opposition’s rigid structure and find the back of the net.

With goals from Dani Olmo, Raphinha, and Lamine Yamal, La Blaugrana were able to come away with a 3-0 win at the Spotify Camp Nou. Ultimately, these are three very crucial points for Hansi Flick’s team.

Here are the player ratings for Barcelona following the game.

Player Ratings:

Joan Garcia: 7.0

Not really tested that much in this game, but Joan Garcia’s distribution under pressure was solid and reliable. Another clean sheet for him.

Eric Garcia: 7.5

His play on the right flank was hardly effective in the first half, but he continued to win his duels consistently. After being switched to the centre-back position, he started playing better as well.

Pau Cubarsi: 7.0

Needs to be doing better, considering that some of his general play left a lot more to be desired. However, he did make some great passes through the middle and they helped open up the opposition.

Gerard Martin: 6.5

Conceded an unfortunate early yellow card and could not make it past half-time. He was replaced by Jules Kounde and the Frenchman was clearly a more impactful player.

Joao Cancelo: 6.0

Tried to make things happen but was mostly unsuccessful. The Portuguese full-back should have done better in this game.

Marc Casado: 7.0

The opposition really took advantage of his presence in the midfield and often played around him quite successfully. However, he did apply the kind of pressure that was needed from him.

Frenkie de Jong: 8.0

Very efficient with his passes and often dropped deep to offer himself up as an option to his teammates. Also drove several of the team’s best progressive movements himself, and was crucial to Barcelona improving as well throughout the game.

Lamine Yamal: 8.5

Did great to apply pressure on the opposition and that led to the team’s first goal. His general play, especially when linking up with his teammates, was brilliant to watch as well. Moreover, his overhead kick to score the team’s third goal was simply outrageous.

Dani Olmo: 9.0

Started off the game in frustrating fashion, especially in the first half. However, as the game went on, he grew into it and delivered a top performance. Scored the team’s opener and assisted Yamal for his goal as well.

Raphinha: 8.0

Struggled to make an impact for much of the game, but his pressing and intensity remained constant. Ultimately, that is what helped him toscore a goal as well.

Robert Lewandowski: 7.0

Should have done better with the opportunities that came his way, and his distribution could have been much sharper as well.

Substitutes:

Jules Kounde: 7.0

Made an instant impact after coming on and it was clear to see the positive effect that he had on the team’s general play.

Alejandro Balde: 7.5

Much sharper today and it helped him simply cut through the Real Oviedo structure on multiple occasions.

Fermin Lopez: 7.0

Intense and sharp in the midfield, Fermin Lopez brought in some great energy.
