One player seems destined to leave Manchester City in the near future

Pep Guardiola revealed today that Savinho is injured and will miss the season’s first few weeks. Those were Guardiola’s words when asked about Savinho during his pre-game press conference ahead of Manchester City’s clash with Wolverhampton Wanderers at Molineux. But reading between the lines, it now seems that it is only a matter of time before the Brazilian international leaves City for Tottenham. There only appears to be one ending to the transfer saga that began at the start of this week.

Pep Guardiola wants Savinho to stay at Manchester City.

Speaking during his pre-game press conference today, Pep Guardiola was asked about Savinho’s future at the club. Savinho has been heavily linked with a move to Tottenham. The Manchester City manager explained: “There are three or four of these press conferences before that (the window shuts) and you are going to ask me that. I don’t know. If it is Tottenham in that case or another club, if any club wants a player, they should call the club like we do.

I am only concerned right now that Savinho will be with us for the rest of the season and hopefully many years because at 21, with the potential he has, he is an extraordinary player.

Otherwise, he would not have played more than 3,000 minutes last season. At the end, the desire of the players is above everything. But then they have to find an agreement with the club. If they don’t take an agreement, the player will be here.

There is only one ending to the Savinho situation.

Everything Pep Guardiola said today on Savinho is correct. The young Brazilian winger was a prominent player for Manchester City last season. He made 48 appearances in all competitions with 36 starts. Being that the 24/25 season was Savinho’s first with the club. The number of games he played shows how highly regarded Savinho is by Pep Guardiola.

But what is apparent is that Savinho has had his head turned by Tottenham’s interest. Globo reported yesterday that Savinho’s agents were heading to London to try to conclude the deal. There seems to be little chance of Savinho staying at the Etihad. He has his heart set on leaving City, and as Pep Guardiola said, the player’s desire will dictate how the saga unfolds.

It looks like Savinho will leave Manchester City. When this move occurs remains to be seen. But it won’t be a surprise to see this particular saga have a speedy resolution and both parties go their separate ways.
