Osmar Stabile seeks deal, deadlock continues over Rodrigo Garro debt

The president of Corinthians, Osmar Stabile, traveled to Argentina to speak with the president of Talleres, Andres Fassi, in an attempt to avoid a new transfer ban on Corinthians due to non-payment of transfer fees and charges for midfielder Rodrigo Garro. This information was initially reported by Itatiaia and confirmed by Central do Timão.

In an update released by Gazeta Esportiva, the Corinthians president had made a proposal to Talleres similar to the one made to Santos Laguna, offering to pay the fee of around 28 million reais without the interest, which would amount to almost 10 million reais, to settle the debt that currently approaches 37.6 million reais, about 7 million dollars.

The proposal was rejected by the Argentine Andres Fassi, who suggested three other business models that have not yet been evaluated by Osmar Stabile and his management team, who decided to review and respond to the proposals only after the Carnival holiday.

Remember the Case:

Corinthians was brought before FIFA by Talleres in June 2024 for non-payment of installments for Garro's transfer, and Corinthians was found guilty in the first instance in February 2025. They appealed to the CAS (Court of Arbitration for Sport), which has not yet announced a decision on the case.

The Timão is trying to preempt a definitive decision by the body regarding a transfer ban to avoid sanctions and new blocks on player registrations.
