SC Paderborn have signed VfB Stuttgart midfielder Ulrich on a one-year loan for the 2026/27 season. It is their third loan of the summer and contributes to a club-record spend in this window.

According to BuLi News, the agreement reportedly contains no option to buy, so Stuttgart retain control of the 21-year-old’s future. Before moving, the VfB academy product extended his contract until 2028.

Ulrich spent last season on loan at 1. FC Magdeburg in the 2. Bundesliga, making 33 appearances with three goals and three assists. His performances earned him a regular midfield role.

Paderborn sporting director Sebastian Lange praised Ulrich’s technique and game intelligence, noting his experience despite his age.

The move gives the attacking midfielder another chance to impress at a higher level with the Bundesliga club, before returning to Stuttgart.
