After securing top spot in the Campeonato Brasileiro with victory over São Paulo on Saturday 21, Palmeiras will use the international break to rest and recover key players who were not called up. According to Nosso Palestra, the squad have been given a few days off before returning with recovery the priority for the next phase of the season.

Because of decisive Campeonato Paulista fixtures and the start of the league campaign, Abel Ferreira has largely kept his starting side together, making only small changes, which has pushed up minutes for many players.
