Palmeiras register Miguel Bilong on CBF BID with €100m overseas clause | OneFootball

Palmeiras have registered Cameroonian teenager Miguel Bilong on the CBF’s BID, his contract published on Tuesday morning. The deal runs until 2029 and includes a €100m release clause for moves abroad, R$ 581 million.

According to Globo.com, the 18-year-old was recruited to complete his development in the academy, yet trained with the senior squad during the World Cup pause.

With Allan and Paulinho suspended, and Flaco López at the World Cup, he could be included for Wednesday’s match against Coritiba, which marks Palmeiras’ return to regular action.

He caught the eye in a training game early this month at the Academia de Futebol, scoring two of his team’s three goals.

Although terms were agreed earlier, as an international signing he had to wait for Monday’s transfer window opening to be registered.

Standing 1.78m, he can operate as an attacking midfielder or forward. He does not yet speak Portuguese and is taking lessons, communicating mainly in French at the Academia de Futebol.

His arrival is part of Palmeiras’ African recruitment project, which has also brought in Ivorian centre-back Koné, who is in the first-team support group.
