Leeds United chairman Paraag Marathe has written to supporters after a 14th-place finish, praising survival and a kept spending pledge, and signalling a strategic summer. According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, he also set out a three-season push before Leeds can feel established in the Premier League.
Many tipped Daniel Farke’s side to struggle on their return, yet they finished eight points above relegated West Ham. Sunderland posted 54 points to take seventh and Europa League football, while Burnley went straight back down with 22.
Marathe credited Farke for steering Leeds to mid-table safety and praised supporters for making Elland Road a difficult venue for visitors. Leeds collected 32 league points at home and he wants that intensity again next season.
He highlighted milestones including a first league win at Old Trafford since 1981 and a first FA Cup semi-final since 1987.
With Squad Cost Ratio replacing PSR this summer, he said recruitment will be disciplined to meet the rules, with arrivals and departures expected. He noted the club spent to the limit to win promotion and stay up, as promised. Remaining in the top flight, he added, allows continued building across commercial growth, stadium expansion and a world-class football operation.
