Pascal Struijk marked Leeds United’s Premier League return with a 15-word Instagram message, thanking supporters for helping the players believe, fight and dream together as a contract decision approaches.

“Pascal Struijk and Ethan Ampadu, both of them have been absolutely fantastic this season. I want to see them both stay,” said former striker Jermaine Beckford, speaking to the Yorkshire Evening Post.

Leeds began 2025/26 targeting anything above 18th, were safe with three games to spare and finished 14th on 47 points.

Struijk made 33 Premier League starts, second only to captain Ethan Ampadu, and was part of seven clean sheets. He did not score.

The 26-year-old enters the final year of his Elland Road contract in July, with uncertainty over his long-term future. Leeds received interest last summer and are expected to again, and because he arrived for virtually nothing in 2018, a sale could deliver significant profit for a team Paraag Marathe has said will sell as well as buy.

In a message to fans, Marathe said Leeds will remain ambitious but measured, and that it will take three seasons before they can operate like an established Premier League side. He added the Squad Cost Ratio will shape transfer business instead of Profit and Sustainability Rules, and recruitment will be strategic, with players arriving and departing.

Any exit would carry risk, given Struijk’s understanding with Jaka Bijol and Joe Rodon, and his status as vice captain and the squad’s longest-serving player.
