Patson Daka among 12 Championship players set for AFCON absence

Patson Daka might have lost his starting place at Leicester City, but his Africa Cup of Nations call-up will still bite. According to LeicesterMercury.co.uk, the 27-year-old is one of 12 Championship players away in Morocco from 21 December to 18 January.
Zambia are in Group A with Morocco, Mali and Comoros. Daka is set to miss fixtures against Derby and Sheffield United. Leicester's Saturday opponents, QPR, lose Tylon Smith, while Watford will be without Edo Kayembe and Mamadou Doumbia on Boxing Day.
Birmingham City will be without Bright Osayi-Samuel, Nigeria, and Blackburn Rovers lose Ryan Alebiosu, Nigeria. Hull City are without Semi Ajayi, Nigeria, while Leicester City also lose Daka, Zambia. QPR will be without Tylon Smith, South Africa.
Sheffield Wednesday will miss Yan Valery, Tunisia, and Sean Fusire, Zimbabwe. Stoke City lose Junior Tchamadeu, Cameroon, and Swansea City are without Manuel Benson, Angola. Watford will be without Kayembe, DR Congo, and Doumbia, Mali, and Wrexham lose Issa Kabore, Burkina Faso.
Group A and Group B conclude on 29 December. Groups C and D finish on 30 December, with Groups E and F wrapping up on 31 December. The knockouts follow, second round on 3-5 January, quarter-finals on 9-10 January, semi-finals on 14 January, third place on 17 January, final on 18 January.
