Day 1 at our training camp

The team’s first activity of the day took place on the way to the training pitch: as they cycled the roughly 1.2-kilometre route from the team hotel to the USC Flachau grounds. Before that, the lads had already got their bodies up to operating temperature with a warm-up in the hotel gym. Once out onto the grass, the focus was primarily on rapid passing drills and possession-based games with small goals. Intermittent rain showers made for a lightning-fast pitch surface. To wrap things up, there was naturally time for selfies and autographs with the fans on site!

Managing workload and team building

Given the friendly match played the previous day, our Red Bulls kept things to a single session on the pitch to start with, before the real intensity kicks in over the coming days with the first double shifts.

However, the afternoon was by no means wasted. Head coach Danny Röhl had already announced the plan: the time here in Flachau is to be used to get to know one another even better off the pitch and to bond as a unit. Alongside numerous one-on-one conversations, a staff outing was on the agenda for the coach and support team, while the players spent the rest of the day together.
