Barcelona star Pedri has this week moved to reveal his appreciation for an up-and-coming member of the club’s midfield ranks.

The Blaugrana starlet in question? Tommy Marques.

The name of youngster Tommy will of course be a familiar one to close followers of Barcelona, after his breakthrough into the first-team setup in Catalunya’s capital this past season.

The 19-year-old, who has already been labelled as the ‘next Frenkie de Jong’, was in fact afforded a pair of La Liga appearances en route to the Blaugrana’s latest Spanish top-flight title.

And as alluded to above, one individual in no doubt that Tommy has a fine future ahead of him is none other than Pedri.

Drawn on the talents of his young teammate during an exchange with the media on Monday, Barca’s engine room metronome made use of the opportunity to praise Tommy:

“There’s always a great amount of talent at La Masia. Tommy Marques is very good, he has to improve some things, but he’s gonna have a great future.”
