Fabrizio Romano reports that RB Leipzig keeper Peter Gulacsi’s move to Villarreal has been finalized. The former RB captain and Bundesliga veteran will head to his new La Liga outfit for a €2m fee. Sport Bild claims there are performance-related bonuses tacked on.

Leipzig keeper Maarten Vandevoordt will also receive a new back-up. After Stuttgart passed on the Norwegian World Cup hero, Ørland Nyland may be headed back to the Bundesliga after all.

Leipzig working on Nyland return

Sport Bild reports that free agent Ørjan Nyland is close to returning to the club. The Norwegian international previously joined Leipzig during the 2022/23 campaign following Gulacsi’s serious knee injury.

Nyland most recently represented Sevilla, but became available on a free transfer this summer. Stuttgart remained uncertain over whether to enter the market for another goalkeeper, given that Nyland would likely have been required to surrender the starting role once Seimen returned.

A move to Leipzig would provide Nyland with a clearer long-term role. Vandevoordt is firmly established as the Saxon club’s new No. 1, meaning the experienced Norwegian would arrive as a reliable deputy and established locker-room presence.
