Phil Smith’s Sunderland ratings as Liverpool win 4-2 in Nashville and Tutierov scores | OneFootball

Sunderland were beaten 4-2 by Liverpool in Nashville on Saturday night. According to Sunderland Echo, there were positives for Régis Le Bris, not least a goal for Timur Tutierov.

The head coach again used 22 players across the two halves. A more experienced XI drew the opening period 1-1, before a youthful side ceded control after the interval.

Goalkeeper Melker Ellborg earned a rating of six. There was little he could do about either finish. He handled the press in possession and made a good save before going off midway through the second half.

Nordi Mukiele was given six. He made promising runs from right-back that did not lead to chances, and he was solid without major errors.

Dan Ballard impressed on his return with seven. He was booked for a challenge on Rio Ngumoha, stepped out confidently with the ball and completed his defensive work with minimal fuss.

Luke O'Nien received six. He was steady in possession, had little to defend, and produced one excellent block late in the half.
