Pinto da Costa tribute shirt earns FC Porto Advertiser of the Year award | OneFootball

FC Porto were named Advertiser of the Year at the awards gala of the 28th Festival of Creativity of Portugal on Friday.

The club said in a statement that the limited-edition Camisola do Presidente dos Presidentes, launched in February and sold out within hours, honoured Pinto da Costa's 42-year leadership of the club and 2594 trophies.

Its blue stripes were formed by listing every title, and the number 42 on the back was based on Pinto da Costa's own handwriting from his notes.

The run was capped at 2594 shirts and featured NFC technology which, via smartphone, reveals the specific title associated with each shirt.

It was the first time a football club had received the Advertiser of the Year honour, selected by more than 1500 national creativity and communications professionals.
