Ecuadorian forward Plata has said his goodbyes to Flamengo after being sold to Dynamo Moscow, posting a farewell on social media and taking leave of team-mates at Ninho do Urubu on Friday.
According to Globo.com, the fee is around 10 million euros with a further 2 million euros in bonuses, approximately R$ 60.1 million and R$ 12 million at current exchange rates.
He is scheduled to travel on Saturday alongside Matheus Martins, a former Botafogo player who is also moving to the Russian club. Both will miss Sunday’s derby at the Maracanã.
In a Spanish message, Plata reflected on titles and matches with the club, expressed pride and gratitude, thanked team-mates, coaches and staff, and paid special tribute to the Nação for their support from day one. He said the memories will stay with him and called it an honour to wear the shirt.
Flamengo had initially been reluctant to part with Plata, a starter for head coach Leonardo Jardim, but his representatives had pushed privately for improved terms after the World Cup or a transfer. He also received interest from clubs in Mexico, though he favoured a move to Europe.
