Dorival Júnior faces a pivotal Sunday at Corinthians, with his position linked to the 19:30 meeting with Internacional at Neo Química Arena in the 10th round of the Brasileiro. According to Meu Timao, support for the coach inside the club was conditional on that fixture.

A fan poll of nearly 400 votes found 41.5% in favour of dismissal, after an eight-match winless streak, a Paulista semi-final exit and a difficult league run.

Opposition to sacking was 37.8%. Within that bloc, 20.2% felt Dorival retained credit for Copa do Brasil and Supercopa titles, and 17.6% argued the squad needs reinforcements.

Another 20.7% expressed no opinion, chiefly due to concern over a possible replacement. Names on the market include Tite, Fernando Diniz, Juan Pablo Vojvoda, Hernán Crespo, Filipe Luís and Marcelo Gallardo.

In close to a year in charge, Dorival has overseen 62 matches, recording 25 wins, 19 draws and 18 defeats, a return of approximately 50.5%.

Assistant Lucas Silvestre has also taken the side on three occasions, with one win and two defeats.
