A host of Premier League clubs are monitoring Ruben Neves with the midfielder keen to leave Al-Hilal.

The former Wolves captain is keen to quit the Saudi Pro League side and return to Europe after two seasons in the Middle East. Neves joined Al-Hilal from Wolves for a fee of £47m and won the Pro League during his debut campaign with the club.

However, he is now keen to pursue a European return with many major clubs keen. Turkish journalist Ekrem Konur is claiming that Fenerbahçe and Galatasaray ‘are closely monitoring his situation’, though no formal contact has been made. The Turkish Süper Lig sides face strong competition, with rival interest from England and Italy.

According to the report, Manchester United, Newcastle, Aston Villa, Tottenham and West Ham are all weighing up a potential deal.

Neves made 177 appearances in the Premier League during his six-season stay at Wolves, and was named club captain following the departure of Conor Coady. Prior to his exit from Molineux, the Portugal international discussed his desire to compete in the Champions League.

“Let’s see what’s going to happen. I always say the same thing, I truly love to be here (Wolves). But I never hide that I want to play Champions League football,” Neves told Sky Sports in 2023.

“In football you need to go for your main goals and that will be a massive decision for me and my family.”
