Southampton forward Cameron Archer is attracting Championship loan interest, with Preston North End linked.
According to Daily Echo, Preston are thought to be exploring a loan after being priced out of a move for Sheffield United's Tom Cannon, and could try to win the race for Archer.

West Bromwich Albion showed firm interest earlier in the summer over a permanent transfer.
Archer, 24, has been an unused substitute in both of Southampton's Championship matches this season.
He joined from Aston Villa in 2024 for a reported £15 million and has scored 11 goals in 77 appearances.
The forward could still leave St Mary's before the transfer window closes.
