Brighton & Hove Albion welcome Leeds United to the American Express Stadium this Saturday for Matchday Ten of the Premier League season.

The Seagulls currently sit 13th in the table with 12 points, looking to bounce back after a 2-0 defeat to Arsenal in the League Cup. Fabian Hürzeler’s side will be eager to find some consistency and climb into the top half.

Leeds United, meanwhile, are just a point behind in 15th. Daniel Farke’s men head south on the back of a confidence-boosting 2-1 win over West Ham in the league and will fancy their chances of building on that momentum.

The two sides last met in March 2023, playing out a lively 2-2 draw at Elland Road. With both teams keen to push up the table, another entertaining clash could well be on the cards at the Amex.

The Fan Zone

Joe Sayers (Albion Obsessed): It’s been a disappointing week for the Albion, on the back of our first defeat at Old Trafford since February 2022 and bowing out of the League Cup against Arsenal.

We’ve truly struggled for consistency this season, we’ve shown flashes of absolute brilliance but at times it’s looked like we’ve ever played together.

So, we look ahead to Leeds at home. This will not be easy by any stretch of the imagination. Leeds and Sunderland have both started incredibly well, and our historic record against the promoted three at home is far from pleasant reading.

It seems a bit silly of me to say a win against Leeds would be a statement, but I truly think a positive result would go some way in proving we have turned a corner.

Like I said a few weeks back in the lead up to Newcastle, if we want to prove we are European contenders we absolutely have to show it on the pitch week in, week out.

We need to get off to a flying start, put them under pressure from the off and give the Albion faithful something to cheer about after two disappointing results.

Prediction: 3-0

Sam (AllDayLUFC): After a great result against West Ham, Daniel Farke’s side now need to try and put together a run before the difficult November and December.

Brighton poses an opportunity to kick on with that, with their form being up and down alongside a midweek cup-tie.

Leeds are nearing a full strength squad, with Willy Gnonto potentially also returning. Getting the attacking lineup fit, sharp and firing will be a huge benefit to the team.

Likely to be unchanged after last week’s performance, but there’s a need to put together a better second half performance to see out a lead against tougher opposition. Brighton are full of goal threats, so the adjusted back line will need to be at it to stand a chance.

Subplot to this game is Georginio Rutter. The Frenchman is set to play against his old club for the first time since leaving last season. Hopefully doesn’t wave his magic to add on any Leeds misfortune.

Prediction: 3-2
