Hull City welcome Sheffield United on Saturday afternoon, hoping for a win that could lift the Tigers out of the relegation zone.

The hosts are currently 18th in the Championship, while the visitors sit at the bottom, three points from safety.

Sergej Jakirovic’s side come into the game after a 2-2 draw with Preston at home in midweek. Sheffield, meanwhile, couldn’t follow up their first win of the season, going down 2-1 at home to Southampton.

The Fan Zone

Joe Collins (To Hull and Back Podcast): Thank goodness for Oli McBurnie!

Three game week, and the two so far have been two games of two halves.

The first half against Preston was diabolical in every way imaginable. 2-0 behind after ten minutes, no shots until the 42nd minute, could barely string two passes together. Awful, simple as that.

The second half? Wow, what a turnaround.

After Lewie Coyle and Sergej Jakirovi? gave the lads a stern, harsh half-time team-talk, per McBurnie's post-match interviews, they came out a different team. The gaffer's three changes at the interval certainly worked.

Back to 2-1 after two minutes, Ryan Giles' cross finding McBurnie in the middle, then struggled to build on that momentum until Giles found McBurnie in the box again to pull us back level. Daniel Iversen denied a thunderous John Lundstram volley late on to win it for the Tigers, but a point is still a great result after the first ten minutes.

McBurnie is the top scorer in the division, Giles has the most assists - we will always score goals with those two in the team. It is, again, the defence that is the problem area. We simply cannot keep conceding two goals a game and expect to climb the table; the defence will be what costs us this season.

Play like we did in the second half against Preston and we beat Sheffield United. But you just cannot bet against us conceding at least once.

On the injury front, Liam Millar returned to action on Tuesday night - on the pitch for the first time in 11 months - and looked lively, playing the ball to Giles for the cross that brought about McBurnie's equaliser.

Semi Ajayi could start for the first time since the opening day following a hamstring injury. Matt Crooks is also back in full training and could be involved..

Mohamed Belloumi, Eliot Matazo & Joel Ndala remian absent.

Prediction: 2-1

Theo (Allthingsblades): After another disappointing result Sheffield United face their first Yorkshire derby of the season as they travel to Hull in saturdays early kick off.

United’s former player Oli McBurnie currently sits top scorer in the Championship and you would imagine he would back himself to add another against the Blades with how poor our defence has been so far.

One positive however, Tom Davies returned to the starting lineup and could be a huge player if he stays fit for a long period of time.

Chris Wilder’s presence on the sidelines will also be missed after being sent off midweek in the loss to Southampton, I would be shocked if we came away with 3 points in this game.

Prediction: 2-1
