West Brom will host Millwall at The Hawthorns in the EFL Championship on Friday evening in a game that will have major implications to either end of the table.
A win will boost Millwall into second place and an automatic promotion place, whereas a win for the Baggies will put them 7 points clear of the drop zone.
The Lions have enjoyed a fantastic season so far, currently sitting fourth in the table on 72 points and are level on points with Ipswich in second and Middlesbrough in third. They recently played both teams one after the other picking up a crucial four points from a possible six. However, they could not build on this when they lost their most recent game on Easter Monday when they lost 2-1 to Norwich City at The Den.
West Brom will look to move to seven games unbeaten as interim manager James Morrison appears to have steadied the ship. The Baggies have not been relegated from the Championship since 1992, but currently only sit four points clear of Leicester City in 22nd.
The hosts have not beat Millwall at the Hawthorns since a 2-0 victory back in September 2018. The reverse fixture saw the Baggies lose comfortably, 3-0, under former manager Ryan Mason. However, the last three times West Brom have hosted against Millwall have ended in goalless draws.
Both sides have had a player nominated for the EFL Championship March player of the month. Josh Corburn has been nominated for his attacking return, scoring three goals in three different fixtures. He will take on George Campbell who was also nominated for the award for his defensive work in keeping the Baggies unbeaten throughout March. Campbell netted twice in March and guided his side to two clean sheets within the month.
Managers from both sides have also received recognition for the work they have done at their respective clubs. Alex Neil being nominated for manager of the season, while Morrison has received a nomination for March manager of the month.
It was also announced earlier in the week that Femi Azeez would be nominated for player of the season. He will be a key attacking outlet for the Lions, with eight goals and seven assists in the Championship this season. The right-sided midfielder has created the third most chances in the league this season and will be central if Millwall are to move up to second with a victory in this fixture.
There are no new injury concerns for the visitors, whilst West Brom will still be without the experienced of Jed Wallace who missed the Easter period with a calf injury.
The fixture will take place in the Black Country on Friday 10 April with kick-off scheduled 8PM (UK time).
