Norway’s Prime Minister, Jonas Gahr Store, has reaffirmed his Leeds United allegiance as Norway face Thomas Tuchel’s Three Lions in tonight’s World Cup quarter-final in Miami, with kick-off at 10pm.

yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk highlights that Store’s stance adds to Norway’s strong Leeds connection, alongside Erling Haaland’s well-known admiration for the club and a sizeable Scandinavian fanbase rooted in Don Revie’s era.

Store met former Prime Minister Keir Starmer last year to discuss strengthening the United Kingdom’s partnership with Norway and cooperating with allies on national and economic security. In that meeting, he referenced British troops training in Norway during winter and noted that Starmer had congratulated him on Leeds returning to the Premier League after one year.

Starmer responded by reiterating his congratulations to Leeds on their promotion.

Store has previously shared his support on Instagram, including a photo of himself in front of five Leeds United flags displayed on a house wall in Norway.
