PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaïfi has written a letter of congratulations and thanks to the Royal Spanish Football Federation for their handling of Fabian Ruiz, as revealed by Cope. The Spanish international midfielder was dispensed from taking part in international games with La Roja this month. Al-Khelaïfi lauds the “excellent care and attention provided to our player, Fabian Ruiz.”
The PSG supremo adds that the Champions League winners “greatly appreciate the professionalism, medical expertise, and support (…) demonstrated in letting Fabian coming back to the Club during the FIFA international break.”
Al-Khelaifi’s letter, and the fact that it was leaked in the public domain can be seen as a direct dig at the French FA. Indeed, PSG have accused the FFF of misconduct in their handling of their players, most notably Ousmane Dembélé. The Ballon d’Or favourite has sustained a serious hamstring injury during international duty, although PSG have reportedly requested that France carefully monitor his workload.
