FC Barcelona had a victorious start to their UEFA Champions League campaign as they beat a difficult Newcastle United side at their own home ground in the north of England.

The Blaugranes will have another very difficult match awaiting them in their next round of games in the premier European competition, as they are set to face the current UCL title holders, Paris Saint-Germain, on October 1st.

Keeping in view the quality of both these teams, this is certainly going to be a blockbuster tie. However, as Mundo Deportivo has noted, the PSG squad is increasingly being affected by physical problems ahead of this enticing clash.

Two of the most notable players in the Parisian team’s squad, Ousmane Dembele and Desire Doue, were already unavailable for their last UCL game, against the Italian side Atalanta. Meanwhile, this game also saw two more of their players, Bradley Barcola and Joao Neves, suffer knocks.

The latter had to be substituted out of the game due to his problem, while the former was able to finish the game. However, Barcola was unable to participate in the training session held on Saturday, and is unlikely to start in the league game against Marseille, even though he might get on the squad list.

On the other hand, Lucas Beraldo was able to return to training after missing the game against Atalanta. Luis Enrique will have Kang-In Lee and Ibrahim Mbaye to replace the injured Barcola for the league game, but hopefully, the injured players on both these sides will be able to recover in time to provide the fans with a spectacle as Barcelona and PSG face off on October 1st.
