The 2025/26 season has not gotten off to the best start for Barcelona attacking midfielder Dani Olmo.

The Spanish playmaker has only started one match so far this season and has not been performing at his best, registering a solitary assist thus far.

As things stand, Fermin Lopez appears to be ahead of the 27-year-old attacking midfielder in the pecking order at Barcelona.

Luis Enrique eyes Dani Olmo reunion at PSG

This has seemingly caught the attention of PSG manager Luis Enrique, who is now seeking to sign Dani Olmo from Barcelona, reports Fichajes.

Indeed, as per the report, the reigning champions of Spain and Europe are weighing up a move for the Spanish international as early as the upcoming January transfer window.

Enrique knows Olmo well from having worked with him in the Spanish national team and sees the playmaker as a good fit in his plans at Parc des Princes.

Despite recent struggles, Barcelona still value Olmo’s talent, recalling the goals and assists he provided in his debut season. Injuries, however, have halted his progression.

As per the report, Barcelona would only sanction Olmo’s departure for €70 million or more.

Although high, PSG are confident they could bring the figure down, aware that the player is not an undisputed starter at the Camp Nou.

For Barça, a sale would ease financial pressures and create room for new signings. For PSG, it would mean acquiring a proven international with experience and quality.

Olmo’s agent, Andy Bara, held an informal meeting with Barcelona sporting director Deco earlier this week to discuss his situation as well as that of his other clients, such as Joan Garcia and Lovro Chelfi.

Only time will if PSG’s reported interest in Olmo materialises into something substantial in the weeks to come or not.
