After a lengthy legal battle, Kylian Mbappe has won the lawsuit against his former club Paris Saint-German, who have been ordered to pay €61 million to the Real Madrid forward, reports AS.

Mbappe’s salary dispute with PSG has been dragging on for a long time now, with the forward reportedly being owed €55 million in unpaid dues.

Back in November, the lawyers representing Mbappe and PSG attended a hearing in which the player demanded €263 million from his former club, while the Parisians countered with a claim of €440 million, alleging bad faith on the part of the footballer.

To support their case, Mbappe’s defence denounced what they described as “bully methods” by PSG that allegedly intimidated the player, which they considered more than sufficient grounds to claim more than €200 million.

The legal representatives of the French club had argued that Mbappe acted in bad faith, presenting evidence in which the player confirmed an agreement with Nasser Al Khelaifi to waive the €55 million, an amount now being claimed by him after leaving for Real Madrid.

In addition, PSG sought €440 million in damages, alleging that the France captain concealed his intention not to renew his contract and caused irreparable harm to the club’s finances.

However, the Conseil de prud’hommes has ruled in favour of Mbappe and ordered PSG to pay €61 million in damages to the Real Madrid forward – and not the €263 million demanded by the player’s lawyers.

The decision by the four judges of the Conseil de prud’hommes does not bring the dispute to a definitive close as PSG are expected to appeal the ruling.
