The Lamine Yamal to PSG rumor shows no signs of slowing down. The speculation resurfaced during the recent international window, following PSG’s victory over Barcelona on Matchday 2 of the UEFA Champions League group stage.

Journalist Romain Molina noted that Yamal remains on PSG’s radar. On his YouTube channel, he explained:

“In Doha (PSG’s owners are Qatar Sports Investments), they say: ‘We want him’. In Doha, it has been decided that they want him, whatever it takes, one day.”

Yamal is contracted with Barcelona through 2031, making a transfer highly unlikely. PSG reportedly assessed the situation, but Barcelona insiders have dismissed claims of a formal offer from Paris.

The alleged bid was said to reach an astonishing €250 million, a figure that could tempt Barcelona to consider selling. Despite this, the club is expected to do everything possible to block any approach.

Despite the rumors linking Yamal to PSG, two key figures have no desire to bring the Spaniard to the French capital. As a result, this rumor should be going away.

“The Emir of Qatar wants to recruit Yamal, is that true? He’s had quite a few ambitions in recent years, and many of them have come to fruition,” RMC Sport’s Fabrice Hawkins said (h/t Le10Sport). “What I can tell you, at least, is that in the current PSG setup, neither Luis Enrique nor Luis Campos have given the green light for Yamal to join.”

“That would go against some of the plans they are putting in place. If tomorrow they had to go after Yamal, it would cost over €200 million. At that price, and considering PSG’s current squad, are they going to pursue Yamal? I don’t believe so at all.”
