The Public Prosecutor has opened a criminal investigation into Corinthians over the alleged irregular hiring of a security firm registered in a club employee’s name, worth about R$ 676.6 thousand.
Between September and October 2025, under president Osmar Stabile, who took office provisionally in May and fully in August, Corinthians paid Mega Assessoria Operacional Ltda to handle club security. Three invoices were issued, for R$ 244,627.66, R$ 208,350.00 and R$ 223,650.00, covering services from July to October.
According to the investigation order, Mega did not have Federal Police authorisation to provide private security and had no formal contract with Corinthians. The firm was incorporated on 3 July 2025, two months before its first invoice, and is registered to Fernando José da Silva, then the social club’s operational manager and now in the same role at CT Joaquim Grava.
The club said in a statement that an emergency change to its security team was needed after the presidency was invaded on 31 May 2025. It added that the payments reflected work delivered at Parque São Jorge, CT Joaquim Grava and the academy base, and that it saw no conflict of interest despite the employee link.
The prosecutor, who handles cases involving former Corinthians presidents, noted indicators of possible irregularities, including sequential invoice numbering and overlap between payer and service recipient. He also observed that the company’s registered address appears to be a regular residence in São Paulo. The probe will examine potential theft, false representation and tax offences, and depositions for Fernando and Fábio Soares are set for the 26th.
